I know I showed a little of the dresser on this post ( click if you want to read about John's hilarious encounter with the police while getting this home lol )
and little snippets here and there with Christmas decor - but not really in it's entirety - mirror and all.
I didn't even realize they were a set until I started painting the mirror to be honest with you - I thought they
were just 2 old pieces someone had chosen to put together!
I love this piece a little too much - and I know I always say it - but this time it's the truth - I will not be talked
into selling it - ( so don't even try John ) it's a keeper -
I don't know how I didn't see that the panels on the mirror matched the panels on the dresser - exhaustion?
Normally I see every minute detail of everything, the moment I look at something ( makes me crazy actually )
I'm going to monogram the panel at the bottom of the mirror ( that's my way of making sure it stays here - in my bedroom - where it most definitely belongs ) Don't mind that patch of wet paint on the drawer panel - I started to distress it and have changed my mind - I like it in it's pristine state for now.
2 darling little shelves on either side of the mirror -
perfect to keep this gorgeous christmas gift I received from Caroline (Piorra Maison)
because of my love of all things Paris - is that gorgeous or what? that can't be put away - it has to stay at all year!
so I took this ( this was a birthday gift from a friend many years ago - it had a glass to hold a candle in it )
like the dresser and the mirror - like Suzan and John - some thing's are just meant to be together
Now that I'm all caught up on furniture posts - it's time to get cracking on another piece!!!
Have a wonderful day ( y'all )

Looks wonderful!! And I will never forget the post you wrote about John getting it home. Funniest story ever.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
This is just beautiful! You do amazing work! I would keep it too.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzan. I think we may have discussed this before, but your dresser is a little more fancy than mine, but I was kind of having second thoughts about painting it, but after seeing how your's turned out, I'm pretty sure I will follow through. It is just beautiful and I really live your little french snow globe..Happy New Year..Judy
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a keeper!
ReplyDeletethanks Deanne - I definitely am :)

I think it's perfect that your snow globe is on a candle holder since those shelves were originally made to hold candles. They were meant to go together! Surely, John won't make you sell that dresser. You'll have to look a long time to find another as nice.
ReplyDeleteI think I have a dresser almost identical in the garage, but sadly no mirror. I love that mirror, I am going to have to hunt for one now because yours looks amazing. I don't blame you for keeping it at all, we sell so many beautiful things. And we deserve beautiful things too, we can't part with everything. I love the colours you chose it looks amazing. And i know you say your not a good photographer, but you are so wrong. I love your photos they look amazing. hugs Tobey
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Can't wait to see what you make John drag home next!!
ReplyDeleteThe dresser is amazing, such a beautiful piece. Love the color combination. And the snow globe the perfect little touch. You did it again Suzann.....
ReplyDeleteThis is the most beautiful piece of furniture. I know it's a keeper and so perfect in your bedroom! I love the little Paris ornament on the candle stand. I am all about Paris this year! Going back for a second look at this beauty!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda

ReplyDeleteAhh I'm honored. That is a lovely and rare piece, honored the Paris ornament is displayed on such a lovely piece. Ok here is my plan. During this fine year you will take a leap with me and we will shop the brocantes in Paris. Seeing as you know the streets of Paris so well. Ok just putting it out there!!!!! We will return with a container full of fab stuff! And we will laugh, and you will blog about it and we will drink plenty of Pinot noir or Chardonnay. Oui mon ami !!!! Because this is going to be a fab year, I can feel it! Just saying!!!! Lol
