Elephant garden stools

Either you hate them or love them - I love them - especially the white ones - they have been around forever (my grandmother had one when I was a little girl so maybe it's just nostalgia )
I have never gone out of my way to purchase one but the thought is always in the back of my mind, more so in the spring and summer because I think of them as outdoor furniture - but lately I have been thinking I would like one in the house - a white one -
They have been a staple and a favorite of countless designers over the years.

AMAZON - 134.00

OVERSTOCK.COM 90.00
Neiman Marcus - HORCHOW - 199.00
my favorite

The above is one I found tonight on CL - in my neighbourhood - for 25.00
Nothing a tin of white spray paint can't make beautiful -
Can you picture my glass of wine sitting atop this baby?
I can!
Or maybe a martini - I have never made one in my life - how is that possible?
How can a 50 something never have made a martini?
I love them when I'm out
Ok - so that's my new project ( but only if I get the elephant - no elephant - no martini's )
I am going to learn how to make the best Martini's
Any recipes out there, hello? Anyone?
What is the best Martini?

  1. Lovely! You can't have more than one martini though, sitting on such a small stool, lol!

  3. The recipe depends how dry you like your martinis. I'm not the cocktail maker at home - that's the hubs's job. Nor am I a fan of martinis. Hubs likes 'em very dry. Shakes up some gin (or vodka), pours it out, and has a little spray bottle of white vermouth and he spritzes his gin twice. And adds a couple of cocktail onions. It seems you have to experiment to find the perfect ratio for you. Go figure.

Maybe you can shake up your cocktail and your can of spray at the same time, so long as you don't spray the drink and drink the spray.

Stacey - I haven't even shown John this one, in case it's already sold
because he wouldn't laugh, he would just be thoroughly p.o'd!!!!
there's a lot of other stuff we need besides an elephant to put my drink on!!!!
