Me, Myself and my black paint..................

As previously posted - I decided to paint my living room and dining room windows black - it's a scary color to work with - because it always look like crap when you do the first coat - always............and I usually panic a little and think Oh Oh you've gone too far this time Suzan - but once the second coat goes on it all comes together - the crisp clean look of black against white is one of my all time favorites.

So here was the inspiration again

Tommy Smythe - via THE LENNOXX.COM
and here we go with lots of pics of my project!!!!

Look Ma, no snow!!!!!!!!!!
might as well paint the console table while I'm at it, lol
Ta Da!!!!
Ok - this is hilarious - I cannot imagine what my neighbors must think of me - honestly I must
scare the shit out of them.................with my cutting branches in the dark of the night and now this.
Picture this - it's midnight and I have my music on and la la la I am painting my window in my nightgown like
this is a perfectly normal thing to do - I am standing in the ledge because it's very deep - so look at the window and picture my whole body completely inside the ledge and.................................there's a man outside walking his dog who does a double take ( I am in hysterics telling you this ) and I immediately jump off the ledge and run into the dining room, crouching, until his dog is finished his business. Can you just imagine the fright I must have given him?  Who expects to see something like that? A woman floating ( hanging ) from a window.
I think he was a weirdo - lol.  Painting in the middle of the night versus walking a dog, which one is stranger to you?

Secondly this is only phase 1 of my window transformation - I now want John to make me a grid out of wood, something I can simply insert into each frame and remove to clean - so that we have French windows.
That may take some time however, for now I am pretty content with my dramatic change.

Have a good day all!!!!

  6. I'm in hysterics reading it! It's always nice to hear "I'm not the only one!" My neighbors all think I'm crazy for the old furniture that often bulges from my garage so I can't even close the door. I empty a pile of old painted wood into my driveway and they ask.."Now what would you need that for?"...Keep up the antics, they come from your creative side that won't be held in!...Coreen

  11. Thanks so much Jenny!!! Sometimes I love the brick wall, sometimes not so much - it has it's limitations,
But at the end of the day it's actually what sold me on the place.
