HOPE CHEST = I hope it sells!!!

I cannot find the before photo of this piece - but it was navy blue - with a rust colored pad on top - and no handles.......................

You'll have to use your imagination on this one lol......................and I actually did this when I did the striped
dresser here because I had someone in mind - but they did not show up :(((

Someone is coming tonight to look at the dresser - so perhaps they may want to take it as a set, we'll see

This is a cedar lined chest - again heavy like you wouldn't believe - manufactured by LANE -
She got the same stripey treatment that the dresser did......................

and then I reupholstered it in an off white cotton - ( thick - almost like canvas )

and then I added some ribbon - just to fancy it up a little - ( this can easily be removed if someone prefers it plain )

It looks black in the photo - but the ribbon is gray -

I have fully embraced Annie Sloan
Now I need Annie Leibovitz to come take photos for me

and Voila - a " set " -  I had previously painted it black - and it sat in front of my living room window, with
pillows propped up on it - looked quite lovely

I almost want to tell people where they should put the items they buy from me - I can't help it - I get a visual and it won't leave, lol
Can anyone say CONTROL FREAK?

That's it for this evening - XXX

UPDATE- a young couple bought both ( and a third small table ) pieces - and thought there were too many stripes - so the chest went from striped to this

and a small table to put a night light on ( you see I'm even dictating what should go on the table )

A little bling -

Fit for a princess - and signed - sealed and picked up

Paris Grey and old white

  19. I think I like that the pieces are of the same color, but do not match with the stripes. To be even more controlling than you - I would have to add lemon accents somewhere in the room. I spent 30 minutes last week explaining how to fit a cream shabby piece into a contemporary room. She bought it and as she was walking out said she would probably just repaint it! At least it sold!
